Tonight I am reminded of something a total stranger did for us on our honeymoon cruise.
Thinking about it again tonight has made me think how much I want to do amazing, fun and unexpected things for total strangers.
Hebrews 13:2 says, Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels."
During our honeymoon cruise, a man at the art auction on board came up to us afterwards and told us he would like to buy us our piece of art. He then proceeded to say that his wife had died tragically in a car accident by a drunk driver and that we reminded him of them when they had been on their honeymoon years before. He also mentioned that someone had bought them a piece of art after they were first married and they both had loved and cherished that art and he wanted to do the same for someone else. So how could we say no to this? We couldn't. This man generously paid for our art and proceeded on his way, just asking us to "pay it forward," when we were able.
This was seven years ago and our artwork still hangs on the wall and reminds us of this generous man, the story and how I want to give! And keep on paying it forward.
Do you have any pay it forward stories tonight?
I'd love to hear them.
Also THANK YOU to all of you following along. Your comments, messages, emails and kind words continue to bless me daily. Thank you! You are a blessing! XOXO
