Townhome Living: Living Room

Considering moving to a town home? Wondering how to decorate it? In the next week I am going to be sharing one space a day from our old town home. We loved living there, there were endless miles of bike and walking trails, two community pools, someone else to mow the lawn for us, a sweet little patio outside, a sledding hill right outside our front door where all the neighborhood kids could play and sled, it was a cush life. Yes, there were neighbors right next door, but I really didn't mind. In a lot of ways it made me feel safe knowing someone was there. We spent a good five years here. Hard to believe, but true! The longest we have ever lived so far in our 11 years of marriage. I liked our little abode. Thanks for letting me share with you these next few days!

Townhome Living Room

Isn't it so cute. My style has sense evolved to all white everything and barn woods and texture. But at the time I was loving anything fun and with some color!

The Pottery Barn Jute Rug has remained an excellent purchase! We had it in our town home and were able to move it with us to our next home where it is under our dining room table. I love this rug! It was always peaceful walking into this space.

Our son loved to sit on these two stools that were purchased at Urban Outfitters long ago. I have since seen them for sale at Joss and Main and Home Decorators, I think?

We had just a tiny space to seat lots of people. We tried to maximize the seating by adding the ottomans, sleeper sofa, armchair, another extra chair. It didn't change the size of the room but functionally it helped to feel like we could host people.

How much did I love this Restoration Hardware coffee table. So much!.. Love the texture for pictures.. what I didn't love though was once Asher and Annabel were around and getting slivers because of the unfinished wood! No thank you. Coffee table got sold on craigslist just three years after purchasing it. That's ok, you win some you lose some. Still got about 2/3 of my purchase price back when I sold it. Basket is from Pottery Barn. Box from West Elm. It was nice to have a tray on the top of the coffee table for a little texture.

This was my favorite little seating area! It was my favorite little chair, from Crate and Barrel. Stool from etsy. Art from etsy (seen this pinned all over the place, and YES I owned it! :) I could sit there and drink my morning coffee and listen to some worship music and just let it wash over me. I loved that little spot. When we moved from our town home I gifted this chair to my good friend Jessica. She always loved the chair and I knew it needed to go to her. Sometimes you need to give away the things you love, you know?! Not just the nastiness. I always try to give good things... my favorite things.

So there you go! Our town home living room. I hope helped some of you if you are working on decorating your own small space or town home. Working with the corner fireplace was a little challenging but we did it, and I love how it turned out!

What are you all up to lately? Do I have any readers these days? Would love to hear from you in the comments!
