Road Trip! Nashville To Seattle :)

Hello, lovelies!

How are you all? I haven’t quite gotten in the swing of blogging again but I do love it when I find my way back over to the little corner of the web.. anybody here reading? Love you all!

In February I had the wonderful opportunity to road trip home from Franklin, TN and we made quite the fun trip of it! If you’re ever in the area thinking of a fun trip I’d recommend this adventure!

We took a few planes, trains and automobiles and made our way home.

Our Itinerary:

Road trip - Franklin, TN to Nashville, TN - Day 1.

Road trip - Nashville to Memphis, TN - Day 2. Stay at Big Cypress Lodge. Glass elevator to restaurant, eat dinner at the top of the pyramid.

Road trip - Memphis, TN to Waco, TX - Day 3. Stay at Shotgun house from Fixer Upper. :) Visit Silos as a family. Have fun.

Road trip - Waco, TX to Albuerquere, NM - Day 4. Stay at Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa. Horseback riding!

Amtrak Train Family Sleeping Car - Albuerquere, NM to Los Angeles, CA - Day 4. Stay at Homewood Suites Anaheim, CA.

Disneyland - Day 5!

Cancelled Train - Day 6! Another day at hotel and Disney for Annabel and I again. Mudslide over the tracks thankfully found out the day before after monsoon rains took over Disney that day. We weren’t mad. Knew we got to sleep in and have another day in beautiful CA.

Day 7 - Kids and Alex fly home Los Angeles to Seattle so as not to miss more school then needed. I rented a car and began driving! Los Angeles to Lathrop, CA. I had sinus surgery recently and couldn’t quite fly. This road trip really worked for us and was tons of fun!

Day 8 - Lathrop, CA to Redding, CA. Stay at Sheraton Hotel Redding, CA. (Beautiful hotel!! Amazing beds!)

Day 9 - Redding, CA to Seattle, WA. HOME!!

Well, friends, here I am - I’m back! I have missed blogging a lot since 2007 or 2009 or whenever it was that I first started. Back then I enjoyed blogging about our son Andrew who was a baby in 2007, miscarriage, adoption, home decor, organizing, mostly I did it for fun. I loved having online friends in the blogging world, people who were like-minded who enjoyed re-arranging their homes in the same crazy ways I did.

My husband would come home and find me laughing at the computer screen. He loved when I blogged, it gave me a lot of joy. Since then I miss it. I admit that I have had absolutely no idea how to work Squarespace since moving to this platform four or so years ago. I am excited to come back here and try, learning as I go.

Back when I started Whatever is Lovely I had been going through much heartache, waiting, loss, & infertility. The verse “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things,” Philippians 4:8 really blessed me during this time as I learned to focus on the lovely in my days. Once again I want to keep this focus, the lovely, and start blogging again.

Duke is our goldendoodle puppy, now one year and two months old. We bought him from a breeder in TX, Lonestar Doodles. He is our miracle puppy, thank you Lonestar! Our oldest son Andrew got to pick him out first from a large litter of puppies at Christmas time! We stayed one night at the Barndominium, thank you to the host for a wonderful and welcoming stay! :)

We managed to pick up our dog and head straight to the silos, of course! :) Because why not. When in TX…. :)

We did a photo shoot at Magnolia Market, because when your ten year old says ok to as many pictures as I want you make the best of all worlds and take a sneak peak at the market, have a great backdrop and spend the night at the barndominum. :) We had so much fun!

We love TX. Thank you TX for being awesome. Thank you Magnolia Markets for being so beautiful and for welcoming our puppy that sweet nearing Christmas day back in 2017.

Florida: What's Not to Love

What is not to love?

What a beautiful day we had here in Florida in January! Never mind that there has been torrential downpour the past three days, this one glorious sunny and warm day made the flight from Seattle to MSP and MSP to Orlando and drive to Ft. Myers all worth it!

Happy January, I hope these beach images warm you up on a cold winter's day if you're staring outside into the snowy landscape, or into a cold wet downpour of rain. Wherever you find yourself, blessings upon your evening and enjoy it right where you're at!

Home Alone Marathons

Who doesn't love a good Home Alone Marathon day?

Home Alone I, II, III, & IV, Check!

Andrew has been walking around with that airplane pillow around his neck all day... Hilarious. To Kindergarten pick up and back. 

Christmas vacation just around the corner! After December 18 I'm not allowing myself to re-arrange anything, run to and fro or any of that... just outings as a family, Christmas fun, Board Games, Movies, Family Walks and whatever else we can discover to do as a family (FOR FREE) here in the Pacific Northwest.
